This is getting to be a habit

As Joanna pointed out in a comment on the last post, yesterday's blizzard looked familiar.

From my February 26/06 post:

That storm was even worse. It left 70 cms (27.56 inches!) in that one 24 hour period and, as you can see, my car was completely buried. That green fence on the right? Starts about 4' off the ground... Through the meteorological magic that is a blizzard just over 2 feet of snow drifts to 4 feet and higher in places. I'm 5'2". Which is... yikes! is what that is.
The digging out sequence was the same, though. Start at the basement door and work your way to the road... then hot bath, linament, Ibuprophen and groan for three days...

i'd love to have a snowfall like that! but then again i live on the 23rd floor of a condo building and park underground so it has a kind of different meaning for me. a meaning of "stay home, don't shovel and go tobogganing once the building manager digs out the front door."

Isn't Zoe supposed to be working?

Also, I made the same comment as Joanna did over at your Flickr place... accusing you of recycling photos, basically.

I'm a mean one, Mr. Grinchcardipus.

Cool! A double eek! from Audrey.

Mmat - Trade ya places!

Zoe - Joanna would have to wear a hat on her head with a flag on it so we could find her...

Joanna - Shhhhh! Everyone'll want one!

R'pus - Well, it is the same car in the same driveway and snow is... well... snow... Although if you look at the car, you'll notice that the snow has drifted differently. Last year's storm dropped 70 cms and the snow is up over the windows. This week's storm was "only" 40 cms and you can still see the top half of the car.

Trade in that hatchback for a skidoo - then you're fixed, at least until summer.

Is Joanna *really* shorter than Dawn?

Hard to imagine.

Haven't those penguins got there yet?

They should have sorted the dinosaurs out ages ago...

Bloody useless flippered birds.

Nanuk - Tis not a hatchback, tis a boring, old, old-lady type sedan.

R'pus - Lots of people are shorter than me, you know! Some are even over 12. (Apologies to Joanna!)

AM - Yes. Project Scortched Snow will be the next post.

Misty - No sign of the penguins. Mind you, at their height, they could be there under the snow and we'd never know... I'll try tossing a kipper out onto the lawn and see if there's any movement.

I don't envy you. Not really. Last storm like that I remember was in 1978 and I didn't have to shovel it, just got to play.

Still, it's pretty. Hope you're back to normal now and not too sore.

P.S. Hi Alethea... if you're *that* Alethea, I can't comment on your blog over there. It just won't let me, for some unknown reason.
