Also, how freaky is it that some Swedish words bear some resemblance, or sound like they have the same root word, to the same word in English?

Well, the Swedish chef always made sense to me. And there's a lovely Eddie Izzard programme where he goes to the Netherlands to buy a brown cow for the milk which shows how most European languages have a common root.
Yes - same with Danish. Kinda cool, I think. And yes, I'm a bit of a language geek.
